System application and inspection comprising: an application system for applying sealing compound to an edge region of one end (1) tin, the system including media application to rotate relatively to each other, the can end and means (5) application in order to apply sealing compound in an edge region of the can end; and a system (7) inspection to determine the integrity of the sealing compound applied to the can end, including the media system inspection to direct a source (9, 11, 13) of radiation toward an edge region end can as the can end rotates relative to the inspection system, and means for detecting radiation originating from the radiation source and reflected from the can end, turning the radiation source to the can end at a position waters up a position in which the sealing compound is applied, characterized in that means are provided to calibrate the system, the means of calibration means (5) for applying sealing compound on one end (1) can during a predetermined time , determine the length of the strip of sealing compound is applied to the inspection system, and determining the space required to apply a time strip com sealing station of a desired length.
