The method of study of pinealocyte ultrastructure in rats, depending on the light conditions, by examining the activity of the pineal gland. On the morphological level criteria of activity of the pineal gland are determined, such as the volume of nuclei and nucleoli; karyoplasm character; state of organelles, of the smooth, granular, and plate-like content of secretory vesicles; osmyophyl inclusion of pinealocytes.
