PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method of a porous composite material based on EU-1 zeolite with which an isomerization performance of 8C aromatic compound with an enhanced xylene yield is obtained, and application of the material for isomerization of 8C aromatic compound.;SOLUTION: This porous composite material, which is composed of an amorphous core part and crystals of EU-1 zeolite are dispersed on it, is obtained by a method containing (1) a stage of impregnation of an aqueous solution containing hexamethonium cation, (2) a stage of hydrothermal treatment under a steam atmosphere at a temperature T of 120-220°C, in an autoclave of volume V (mL), in which a quantity of water more than the measured volume precisely equals to V×[23.48×10-10×T3-48×10-8×T2+5×10-5×T-0.002] and not more than 0.25×V is preliminarily introduced, and the solid is made not to directly contact with the water, and (3) a stage of drying and sintering, and this catalyst for the use in isomerization of 8C aromatic compound is prepared based on the material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
