PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of predicting the failure in a bent part of a metal sheet at press forming excellent in accuracy.;SOLUTION: When performing bending by pressing a taper-shaped punch 2 through the metal sheet 3 in the state where tension is applied to the metal sheet 3, the marginal condition under which necking, cracking or breaking are not generated in the bent part of the metal sheet 3 is predetermined in the relationship between the tension and the radius of the tip of a punch 2 by performing the bending by properly changing the tension and the radius of the tip of the punch 2 and, when performing the press forming for providing the bent part on other metal sheets by using a press forming die, the tension at working which is acted on the bent part is predicted in advance and the method for predicting the failure in the bent part of the metal sheet at the press forming for predicting the existence of the generation of the necking, cracking, or breaking in the bent part on the basis of the tension at working and referring to the marginal condition is adopted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
