PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of retaining testament content of a testator with high security and surely informing the bereaved family of the testament content.;SOLUTION: The device retains, on storing means, information to identify a testator and a testament of the testator or information relating to the testament in association with each other (104-107). The device comprises obtaining means (108 or 113) for recognizing described content on a document to confirm the death of the testator to obtain information to identify the deceased testator. The device checks the information to identify the testator, obtained by the obtaining means, against the information to identify the testator, stored on the storing means, to confirm the deceased testator by confirming means (112).
