PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire arrangement estimation method capable of precisely estimating arrangement of wires in a wire bundle cross section such as a wire harness.;SOLUTION: The wire arrangement estimation method of the wire bundle cross section comprises a wire number setting process for setting the number of wires of the innermost-periphery wire layer, a lamination process of laminating one or a plurality of outer wire layers at an outer periphery side of the innermost-periphery wire layer, an outer diameter acquisition process of acquiring an outer diameter of the wire bundle, and a repetition process for acquiring an outer diameter for each of a plurality of set values as to the number of wires by repeating the lamination process and the outer diameter acquisition process, and a selection process of selecting a set value to be the minimum outer diameter out of the outer diameters for each set value acquired in the repetition process. In the lamination process, positions of one or a plurality of wires constituting a wire layer located at an inner periphery side are determined, and diameters of circumscribed circles in contact with these wires are calculated, and, by arranging a plurality of wires at an outer periphery side of the circumscribed circle, outer wire layers are laminated at an outer periphery side of the innermost-periphery wire layer located at an inner periphery side or the outer wire layer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
