PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal nanoparticles having superior detection sensitivity as labeled materials at low cost.;SOLUTION: A compound having a chemical structure where one terminal includes a functional group to be stably coupled to the surface of a metal nanoparticle via the sulfur atoms of a sulfur compound, and the other terminal has a carboxyl group and an amino group at the carbon in the position thereof is used as a compound 3 for a surface modification agent and also a linker.
