PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thunder impulse voltage testing apparatus for suppressing an oscillation component overlapping with a peak, and for obtaining a predetermined peak width, even if the electrostatic capacitance of an electrical device as a to-be-tested object is large.;SOLUTION: In the thunder impulse voltage testing apparatus, if the electrostatic capacitance C10 of a winding in a to-be-tested transformer 9 is large, a capacitor 8 is connected between an output terminal A of an impulse voltage generator 1 and one terminal B of the winding in the transformer 9. A load electrostatic capacitance CL, on the side of the transformer 9, as viewed from the output terminal A of the impulse voltage generator 1, is reduced. Hence, the resistance of a damping resistor element 6 is adjusted to the extent that an oscillation component suppressing the effects of the damping resistor element 6 is not impaired, and the peak width of a thunder impulse voltage VBC can be adjusted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
