PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly versatile expert system generation apparatus having less burden to knowledge engineers and capable of generating an appropriate expert system with minimum labor and time, and to provide a method for executing the same.SOLUTION: This expert system generation apparatus includes: case acquisition means 10 acquiring a case consisting of an attribute and an attribute value to form a case base; rule generation means 20 generating a decision tree from the case base; and consulting means 30 referring to the generated decision tree to find a conclusive attribute value. The case acquisition means 10 incorporates a case acquisition interface 10a for acquiring a case from an external system, automatically stores the case via the case acquisition interface 10a from a storage unit of a control device provided in the external system, and can form and update the case base. The rule generation means 20 can accumulate cases and automatically update the decision tree.
