PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure a contact angle in a small punch creep test.;SOLUTION: A ball 23 is placed on a flat plate type test piece 20, which is heated while predetermined load is applied through the ball 23. The deformation quantity of the test piece 20 is measured during the period. A control part acquires temporal variation in deforming speed of the test piece 20 at predetermined intervals based upon the deformation quantity. The control part detects a stationary creep region of the test piece 20 based upon the temporal variation in deforming speed. The control part compares the deforming speed with a threshold which is predetermined deforming speed corresponding to an acceleration creep region after the stationary creep region is detected and before the test piece 20 is broken, and stops applying load to the test piece 20 when the deforming speed reaches the threshold.
