PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine clients residing behind LDNS resolvers.;SOLUTION: A web beacon instructs a client to retrieve zero-content images at a unique hostname. The client gives requests for the host name to an LDNS resolver, and an LDNS sends the request to an information providing server/beacon resolver for the hostname. The beacon resolver records the hostname with the LDNS's IP address, and the LDNS responds with an IP address of a beacon collection server forwarded to the client. The client sends a request containing the unique hostname to the beacon collection server. The beacon collection server records the IP address of the client and hostname. An aggregation server collects data from the beacon resolver and beacon collection server. Using the hostnames, IP addresses of the clients are mapped to the IP addresses of the LDNS resolvers. Mapped data is provided to load balancing servers to determine routing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
