PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing arsenic content-controlled glass, in which the arsenic content in the glass is measured with high sensitivity and controlled to be 0.1 mass ppm or lower.;SOLUTION: In a method for producing the glass having specific composition, the arsenic content is measured by a process comprising the following steps (1)-(4). The step (1) is a glass dissolution step of heating a mixture of a glass sample, a high boiling point acid, potassium permanganate and hydrofluoric acid so that the high boiling point acid still remains in the hot mixture to obtain a first glass solution containing manganese dioxide. The step (2) is a manganese dioxide dissolution step of adding a manganese dioxide reducing agent to the first glass solution to dissolve the manganese dioxide in the first glass solution and obtain a second glass solution. The step (3) is a pre-reduction step of adding a reductant, which reduces a pentavalent arsenic ion to a trivalent arsenic ion, to the second glass solution to obtain a glass solution for measurement.
