PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ONU for a GE-PON system, capable of suppressing power consumption greater than ever.;SOLUTION: To the ONU, there is given from an OLT a Gate frame including one or a plurality of Grants including a transmission start time and a transmission amount. The ONU includes: based on the received Gate frame, upward signal period recognition means for recognizing the transmission period of an upward signal to the OLT; and power consumption control means for determining a power consumption control target for a configuration that functions on the upward signal transmission and applicable of a power saving mode, and a set time and a cancellation time of the power saving mode in the power consumption control target in a period other than the upward signal transmission period, and for instructing the power consumption control target to set or cancel the power saving mode at the determined time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
