Method for managing selective catalytic reduction device of internal combustion engine, involves loading auxiliary cartridge continuously if measure represents unloaded state until another measure represents loaded state
The method involves loading an auxiliary cartridge (13) with a reducing agent using main storage cartridges (11, 12). Binary information about a filling state of the auxiliary cartridge is determined. The filling state is under estimated from a filling model when the auxiliary cartridge is moved from an unloaded state to a loaded state. A measure representing a physical charging state at a time is produced when the model indicates the loading state. The auxiliary cartridge is continuously loaded if the measure represents the unloaded state until another measure represents the loaded state. The reducing agent is ammonia.
