Producing copper sulfate solution, involves performing electrodialysis in tank comprising anodic and cathodic compartments, providing a copper plate in tank, creating an electric field between anode and cathode, and dissolving the anode
Producing copper sulfate solution, comprises (a) performing electrodialysis in a tank comprising anodic compartment comprising a copper anode and cathodic compartment comprising a copper cathode, where the compartments are filled with a high purity sulfuric acid solution as an electrolyte, (b) providing a copper plate in the electrodialysis tank, (c) creating an electric field between the anode and cathode to form a copper sulfate solution by dissolving the anode, (d) collecting the copper sulfate solution, (e) replacing the anode dissolved by a new anode; and (f) repeating steps (c)-(e). Producing copper sulfate solution, comprises (a) performing electrodialysis in a tank comprising two compartments separated by an anion exchange membrane, where one compartment is anodic compartment comprising a copper anode and other compartment is cathodic compartment comprising a copper cathode, and the compartments are filled with a high purity sulfuric acid solution as an electrolyte, (b) providing a copper plate in the electrodialysis tank, (c) creating an electric field between the anode and cathode to form a copper sulfate solution by dissolving the anode, (d) collecting the copper sulfate solution, (e) replacing the anode dissolved by a new anode; and (f) repeating steps (c)-(e). An independent claim is included for an installation for the production of copper sulfate.
