The method involves developing a reference rolling resistance coefficient of a reference tire by iterative application of a basic radial function e.g. Gaussian function to data of the tire with respect to analysis parameters by considering a rolling resistance coefficient of the tire. The rolling resistance coefficient is estimated by iterative application of the function to data of parameters that differ from the data used in development step and with respect to the parameters, where the iteration is continued until deviation lower than a preset threshold is reached between successive iterations. The analysis parameters include measured real height of side of tire, manufacturing technique of the tire and width according to a section of non-mounted tire.
