Method for regenerating e.g. particle filter, of exhaust gases emitted by diesel engine of power train of car, involves estimating effectiveness of regeneration, and determining setpoint temperature based on estimated effectiveness
The method involves determining whether a need exists for regeneration of one of postprocessing devices e.g. particle filter and nitrogen oxides trap, regeneration of the particle filter and/or desulfurization of the trap (E1). Effectiveness of regeneration is estimated (E5). A setpoint temperature is determined (E6) based on the estimated effectiveness of regeneration. A controlled regeneration phase is performed such that temperature of exhaust gases leveled with the postprocessing device remains close and/or equal to the setpoint temperature. An independent claim is also included for a power train for a car.
