Copper and zinc alloy comprises a composition comprising copper (60-70 wt.%), zinc (15-24 wt.%), manganese (8-15 wt.%), aluminum (0.50-4 wt.%), iron (0.5-4 wt.%), nickel (1 wt.%), silicon (1 wt.%), tin (1 wt.%), lead (2 wt.%), and impurities (less than 1 wt.%). Independent claims are included for: (1) a molded metallic product made of copper and zinc comprising the composition and alpha phase percentage of 50-90%, preferably 53-87%; and (2) a process for manufacturing a molded metallic product made of copper and zinc alloy, comprising elaborating the alloy at a liquid state, and providing the alloy in a mold for forming the product under solidification and cooling conditions.
