Method for simulating aging state of exhaust line of diesel internal combustion engine of car, involves supplying urea in form of liquid to nitrogen oxides treatment unit, and diluting urea with liquid to simulate aging of exhaust line
The method involves supplying urea in the form of liquid i.e. Adblue(RTM: Aqueous urea solution 32.5 percent), contained in a container to a nitrogen oxide treatment unit e.g. selective catalytic reduction (SCR) unit (26) for reducing nitrogen oxide. The urea is diluted with a liquid e.g. water, to simulate aging of an exhaust line (28). Quantity of nitrogen oxides at an exit of the treatment unit is measured for each dilution ratio. The dilution ratio of the urea is determined based on data associating the dilution ratio to an aging state. An independent claim is also included for a device for simulating an aging state of an exhaust line of a car.
