Extruder screw for use in cylinder of extruder utilized for kneading and mixing of viscous material e.g. compounded rubber, has multiple stretched projections arranged in channels and passing radially from core
The screw (10) has a core passing from a sealing portion (14) to a nose cone end (26). Screw flights (34) pass radially from the core in a quasi-helical pattern, where the adjacent flights form channels (40) between the screw threads. Multiple stretched projections (50) are arranged in the channels, and pass radially from the core. The core comprises a central line (32), where the projections exhibit a projection angle of about 95 to 175 degrees and the angle gradually increases from the sealing portion to the nose cone end.
