Method for supporting driver during driving of motor car in three-lane road surface, involves optically marking detected area to be occupied by vehicle during lane changing and/or sudden approach in environment of other vehicle
The method involves optically outputting traffic conditions in the environment of a vehicle (1) in an environment model represented on a display unit i.e. head-up-display, of the vehicle. Lane changing or sudden approach of another vehicle (3) in the environment of the former vehicle is predicted. An area (F2) to be occupied by the latter vehicle during lane changing and/or sudden approach is determined and optically marked on the display unit. The determined area is marked as critical if determined relative velocity between the vehicles falls below a predetermined threshold.
