The adjuster (10) has a stator (22) provided with cams (34-37), and a rotor (38) provided with blades (46-49). The blades are arranged between the cams such that the rotor and the stator define a primary chamber (54) and a secondary chamber (50) between the two cams and the blade, respectively. A hole is formed in the blades, and a movement limiting pin is selectively moved between two movement limiting pin positions. The limiting pin extends from the hole into the primary chamber in a direction if the pin is provided in one of the limiting pin positions.
