The pump has a rotatable drive shaft and a suction- and pressure connection, where a fluid flow from the suction connection to the pressure connection is effectuated by the rotation of the drive shaft. The pump is provided with a data store, in which a characteristic curve is stored, which indicates the relationship between the speed of the drive shaft and the fluid flow of the pump. The data store is a bar code or a matrix code, which is mounted on the outer surface of the pump. The pump has a constant displacement volume.
