The method involves recording projection images at different time points of the cardiac cycle under different projection directions and reconstructing multiple three-dimensional reconstruction image data sets assigned to a phase of the cardiac cycle using projection images. A recording parameter describing the temporal sequence is selected during the recording of the projection images depending on the conducted cardiac stimulation such that the recording of the projection images is synchronized with the cardiac cycle. The cardiac stimulation secures a stable heart rate during the recording. An independent claim is included for an x-ray device with a radiation source for executing the method.
