The X-ray biplanar system has an X-ray device (10) with a C-arm (11), on which a primary X-ray source (12) and a primary X-ray detector (13) are attached in opposing arrangement. A computing and control unit (19) is provided for controlling the X-ray source and the X-ray detector for receiving an examination area (16) of an examination object (17), which is mounted on a mounting unit (18). A secondary X-ray source (22) and a secondary X-ray detector (23) are directly or indirectly attached at the X-ray device in opposing arrangement. The secondary X-ray source and the secondary X-ray detector are controlled by the computing and control unit for receiving another examination area of the examination object. An independent claim is included for a method for receiving an X-ray image with an X-ray biplanar system.
