The charger has input and output terminals, primary-side inverter (106) which with input terminals are coupled, and a transformer having primary-side transformer winding (107) and secondary-side transformer winding. An electrically isolated DC-DC converter has primary-side inverter which with input terminals are coupled and transformer having primary and secondary-side transformer windings. The charger is adapted to provide first charging voltage to first battery (110) at output terminals and second charging voltage to second battery (115) at output of secondary-side rectifier (114). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an onboard network system; and (2) a method for charging batteries with battery charger.
