The method involves comparing two checksums. The two checksums to be compared are respectively stored in a medical image data set, which is implemented in a prototype, and another medical image data set, which is implemented in a product. The checksums are outputted in a protocol-file for comparison and/or validation. The image data sets are used in a Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) format. The image data sets are compressed and/or encoded in an evaluating device (9) after determination of the checksums. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for validating image processing algorithms (2) a computer program product comprising instructions for performing a method for validating image processing algorithms.
