The auxiliary drive device has two bottom rollers provided with grip rings, where each bottom roller has a drive unit and sensor unit for detecting the muscle force inputted in the gripping ring. An inclination sensor unit is provided to detect the inclination of the wheelchair opposite to the horizontal in the driving direction of the wheelchair. The control unit activates the drive units in response to the detected inclination for a determined time duration or for deliver a determined service.
