Device for testing strength i.e. endurance limit, of segmented rotor of permanent excited synchronous motor, has expanding elements applying radially outwardly directed test load on rotor segments based on predeterminable test cycle
The device (22) has expanding elements (24) i.e. ring segments, for applying radially outwardly directed test load on respective rotor segments (12) of a rotor (10) in accordance with a predeterminable test cycle. Radial outer end surfaces of the expanding segments are provided on an inner side of the rotor segments. A conical or pyramidal contact surface (30) of an axially movable stamper (26) is connected to corresponding wedge-shaped radial inner end surfaces (32) of the expanding elements in accordance with the predeterminable test cycle. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing strength of a rotor of a synchronous motor.
