The device (1) has a release unit (7) through which the fastening device is moved from one functional position to another functional position during collision of a motor car. A shift unit (9) shifts a component in the latter function position with respect to a motor car. The shift unit is arranged such that the component is moved outside from a deformation zone of the car to the latter position. The release unit comprises an operating element (11) that is selected from a group of pyrotechnic element, electromotor, hydraulic element, pneumatic, deformation or cutting elements.
