Microwave transmitter for use in automotive industry, has outlet device arranged at waveguide and/or coaxial cable, and adhesive layer arranged between surfaces of components, where height of outlet opening of outlet device is variable
The transmitter has a generating unit for generating microwaves, and a waveguide or a coaxial cable for forwarding of the microwaves. An outlet device (10) e.g. antenna head, is arranged at the waveguide and/or the coaxial cable, where the microwaves are emitted over the outlet device for heating an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer is arranged between mutually facing surfaces of components, where height (H1) of an outlet opening (16) of the outlet device is variable. The height of the outlet opening is adaptable to height (H2) of the adhesive layer by a control device (28). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a microwave transmitter.
