Method for e.g. three-dimensionally displaying map information on display unit of graphical navigation system for motor car, involves determining and displaying representation of superposition of reference and dependent maps
The method involves dividing a reference map (6) in a geometric system i.e. coordinate map grid. Supporting points (P1-P3) i.e. crossing points, of a geometric system, are defined in the reference map. Information related to arrangement of the points in the reference map and information related to alignment of the reference map are transmitted to a geodetic reference system used in a dependent map (8). The dependent map is transformed based on the transmitted information. Representation of superposition of the reference and dependent maps is determined and displayed on a picture screen (4).
