The device consists of individual lattice bars, which are embedded in an edge (2) of the aircraft engine (1) at an air inlet and are placed and removed when required. The lattice bars are so tightly arranged that the invasion of the birds in the aircraft engine is barred. The lattice bars are permeable to air through material recesses in hole- or slotted hole shape. The lattice bars are placed and removed individually. The lattice bars are placed on one or multiple retainers and are placed and removed in groups by the displacement of the retainer.
