Device for utilizing exhaust gas heat from internal combustion engine of motor car, has gas flow control device that is provided to restrict gas mass flow through housing in predetermined flow channels based on environment parameter
The device has thermoelectric elements that are arranged between a hot side and a cold side of thermoelectric module (20). A thermoelectric generator (10) is provided with an exhaust gas flow path arranged in housing (12) having an inlet (14) and an outlet (16). The thermoelectric modules are arranged parallel in flow channels (22) mounted inside the housing between inlet and outlet. A gas flow control device (26) is provided to restrict gas mass flow through housing in a predetermined flow channels based on environment parameter. An independent claim is included for a method for utilizing exhaust gas heat from internal combustion engine of motor car.
