The pixels of groups of scanning stereo images are spatially entangled. An image display unit is constructed with individually switchable light modulator elements for reproduction of each stereo image pairs. The encoding process of two raster groups of left-side stereo images (L1,L2) and right-side stereo images (R1,R2) is performed in a first time interval (t1). The encoded images of two raster groups of left-side stereo images and right-side stereo images are acquired in a second time interval (t2).
