Crash structure for vehicle e.g. electric motor car for avoiding endangerment of vehicle occupants, has center tunnel whose walls are reinforced in region of vehicle seats by crash plate, which receives forces impinged in case of side crash
The structure has a U-shaped center tunnel (1) extending in a longitudinal direction, where side walls of the center tunnel are reinforced in a region (7) of seats (2, 3) of a vehicle (10) by an impact energy-absorbing crash plate (4). The crash plate receives lateral forces impinged in case of a side crash. Free ends of the side walls of the center tunnel are connected with a longitudinal beam, which forms a support for the crash plate. The crash plate is made of metal i.e. stainless steel, or fiber-reinforced plastic material i.e. carbon fiber reinforced plastic material.
