Extracorporeal system i.e. minimized heart support system, for pumping oxygenated blood from heart through centrifugal pump, has centrifugal pump and roller pump partially connected in series with each other
The system has a centrifugal pump (3) and a roller pump (2) partially connected in series with each other. An oxygenated blood is pumped in an abdominal artery and introduced into ahead of a pulmonary vein catheter via a jugular vein by the roller pump. A venous tube is attached to an implantable catheter, and the centrifugal pump is set to extract the blood to be passed into a membrane oxygenator (4). An arterial catheter is secured in an arterial line, and the venous tube is directed to a catheter pulmonary line (9).
