The method for repairing an end- or top worn, elongated and/or large volume metallic component, where the worn surface or end section is removed from the component and is replaced by a similar shaped component, comprises providing a laser fusion plant comprising a dosing chamber (2) for metallic powdery building material (3), an installation space (4) with a height-displaceable carrier (5) and a metering device (6) for the building material, assembling the component in a retainer or a fixation device, and removing the worn portion to be repaired from the retainer or fixation device. The method for repairing an end- or top worn, elongated and/or large volume metallic component, where the worn surface or end section is removed from the component and is replaced by a similar shaped component, comprises providing a laser fusion plant comprising a dosing chamber (2) for metallic powdery building material (3), an installation space (4) with a height-displaceable carrier (5) and a metering device (6) for the building material, assembling the component in a retainer or a fixation device, and removing the worn portion to be repaired from the retainer or fixation device, and inserting the prepared component into the laser fusion plant such that the component is secured on the carrier with the retainer or fixation device. The insertion of the component takes place in the retainer or fixation device outside the laser fusion plant. The region of the component preserving below the interface is sealed in the laser fusion plant against penetrating building material or is filled with building material. Before reconstruction of the interface, the component is processed within the laser fusion plant on a nominal dimension. The processing of the interface takes place via the laser beam of the sinter/fusion laser. The wear length of the end section of the component for controlling the erosion depth and generative reconstruction are optically measured in the laser fusion plant. The worn portion is removed to a large extent by wire cutting, milling or grinding. The component, in the region of the interface, is applied with a circulating thickening before clearing away or separating the worn portion of the component, where the thickening is formed by a weld seam. The interface is proceeded by the applied thickening. The component is processed according to the generative reconstruction of the worn portion in the region of thickening on a finished size. An independent claim is included for a device for repairing an end- or top worn, elongated and/or large volume metallic component.
