The method involves forming an integral blade ring (4) by connecting adjacent blades (6) in a blade root region by friction stir welding. The integral blade ring is attached at a rotor hub (8) by friction stir welding, where the final processing of a rotor disk (1) is carried out. A welding tool is attached radially inside at blade roots (12) with radially outward facing shoulder surface for welding the blade roots. The welding tool is moved in longitudinal direction of the blade root.
