Method for monitoring motor drive system for e.g. diesel engine mounted in motor car, involves detecting error in overrun mode, if overrun maximum tolerable control variable is smaller than read-back control variable of power amplifier
The method involves comparing overrun maximum tolerable control variable with read back control variable of a power amplifier (4). The read back control variable is set corresponding to predetermined total torque for operating the drive motor (2). An error is detected in the overrun mode, if the overrun maximum tolerable control variable is smaller than the read-back control variable of power amplifier. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) computing device for monitoring drive system; (2) drive system; (3) computer program for monitoring drive system; and (4) computer program product for monitoring drive system for drive motor.
