Method for providing information about feasibility of overtaking maneuver to driver of overhauling vehicle, involves determining information about feasibility based on sensor information that is determined during overtaking maneuver
The method involves determining information about feasibility of overtaking maneuver based on sensor information of an environment sensor system. The sensor information is determined during the overtaking maneuver and detects an overhauled vehicle i.e. lorry, according to veering of an overhauling vehicle (1) during lateral passing at the overhauled vehicle. The sensor system is aligned transverse to travel direction. The sensor system is comprised of front ultrasound sensors (5, 10), rear ultrasound sensors (9, 11) and a side camera (12). An independent claim is also included for a driver assistance system.
