Controllable coolant pump for combustion engine, has clamping ring inserted into circulation groove of engaging socket for stepless positioning of guide plate between end positions so that ring is supported at inner wall of pump shaft
The pump (1) has a pump shaft (4) i.e. sleeve shaft, with a vane wheel (6) rotatably supported in a pump casing (2). The wheel conveys a coolant as volumetric flow into a pressure- or spiral channel (9). A guide plate (11) is connected with a push rod (12) that is guided in the shaft. A radially prestressed clamping ring is inserted into a circulation groove of an engaging socket (17) for stepless positioning of the plate between end positions without operation of an actuator (14) so that the ring is supported at a contour-free cylindrical inner wall (16) of the shaft by friction wedging. The actuator is designed as an electrical, magnetic, pneumatic or hydraulic working regulating unit.
