The unit has a set of measuring instruments (8, 9) arranged at and in active connection with a c-arm (1) such that acceleration of the c-arm is measurable. The measuring instruments are arranged at and in active connection with an X-ray source (4) and an X-ray detector (5), respectively such that acceleration of the X-ray source and acceleration of the X-ray detector are measurable. The measuring instruments comprise three acceleration sensors to measure the acceleration of the X-ray source and the X-ray detector in three orthogonal directions. An independent claim is also included for a method for capturing an image with a movable c-arm X-ray unit.
