The manufacturing method introducing multiple slot-shaped recesses (14) in a surface of a base body of an x-ray anode through an ablation process. The recesses are introduced into the surface by ultra-short laser pulses through electron beam ablation. The recesses are arranged to limit rectangular surface elevations (16) or lattice-like lines. The recesses are introduced with a depth of 40 microns or more than 150 microns in the surface of the x-ray anode base body. An independent claim is included for an x-ray anode.
