The electronic device (10) has an operation-hour counter (42), which outputs time information for the operating time. The sensors (12,14,16) are arranged for detecting a surrounding size and output data to the surrounding size. The device is designed to the surrounding size in a memory (44). The electronic device is implemented in an application-specific integrated circuit. An independent claim is included for a method for determining the operating time of a control device, particularly with an electronic unit.
