The method involves extracting the oil adjacent to the surface such that the oil flows through the surface. The oil is applied on the rotor (3) near a rotation axis for measurement of the wall shear stress on the surface of a rotor blade (5) of a rotor rotating around a rotation axis. The oil is applied on the rotor blade or a hub of the rotating rotor. The oil is discharged from an axial distance to the rotor. An independent claim is included for a device for executing the method.
