Method for heating surface of plastic component e.g. bumper used in motor vehicle by infrared radiation, involves irradiating surface with infrared radiation having mutually parallel beams to heat component surface
The method involves generating an infrared radiation (18) having mutually parallel beams (20) by radiation apparatus (16). The surface (12) of the component (14) is heated by irradiating the surface with the infrared radiation. The wavelength range of portions of infrared radiation is set about 0.78-1000 microns. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) system for heating surface of component; and (2) component processing system.
