A process for the removal of oxides of nitrogen from the exhaust gases from incandescent lamps - and pickling lines, wherein the exhaust gases of the pickling section and heated by means of selective catalytic reduction (scr) are denitrified, wherein the exhaust gases of the pickling section (3) in front of the selective catalytic reduction (9) heat from the exhaust gases of the annealing furnace (1) is supplied, wherein the exhaust gases of the pickling section (3) and the exhaust gases of the annealing furnace (1) are brought together and together of the selective catalytic reduction (9) are subjected to, and wherein the exhaust gases of the pickling section (3), before being combined with the exhaust gases of the annealing furnace (1) heat from the already combined stream of exhaust gases from the pickling section is supplied to and annealing furnace.
