What is produced is an antibody recognizing an epitope MPB64 localised in any of amino acid sequences SEQ ID NO:2-4, particularly a monoclonal antibody. Thereby, there are presented immunoassay with the use of the antibody, particularly an immunoassay sandwich with the use of a first and second MPB64 antibody, immunochromatographic assay and an immunochromatographic test strip. A biological sample may be subjected to the immunoassay without cultivation or after cultivation for a period of time before the bacteria in the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex in the sample start growing substantially.
