PURPOSE: Optical repeater having a remote recovery function and remote recovery method thereof are provided to analyze and process a received standard frame by receiving a standard frame having a reset signal allocated. CONSTITUTION: A digital signal processing unit (10) receives a standard optical frame. A power reset unit (30) resets an optical repeater according to a control signal transmitted from the digital signal processing unit. A reset signal for resetting the optical repeater is allocated in a specific region of the standard optical frame. The digital signal processing unit rests the optical repeater by detecting the reset signal included in the transmitted standard optical frame. The digital signal processing unit includes a signal detection unit. The signal detection unit detects whether the reset signal is included in the transmitted standard optical frame or not.
